F. A. Q.

What does it cost to join the club?

TCTC Business Meetings are generally held on the third Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. at Steak and Ale (2801 Southtown Dr.) in Bloomington. Call (952) 884-0124 for directions or use this map to get there.

Please check our current social calendar for exact location and time.

What are the height requirements to join the Twin Cities Tall Club?

Women have to be at least 5'10" and men at least 6'2". A club officer measures people in their stocking feet.

How tall are your members?

How tall are you? Could you be the tallest member? Join us and find out. And if you are not the tallest, you will still enjoy the fellowship of the tall club.

What can I do to help the club?

Being a normal member is rewarding enough for some, but the club always needs more people to help. Getting involved with the planning, events and membership is a great way to meet people and expand your network of tall friends. It's also easy. One of the easiest ways to get involved is to attend a business meeting, listen, comment, and provide ideas. Another idea is to just ask the host/hostess at any event what you can do to help, show up early and help setup or stay late and help cleanup. Another idea is to talk to the club president about possible openings on the board or areas that require additional hands. There is always work to do to keep our social organization running smoothly!

Where can I get business cards and flyers to help promote the Tall Club?

Ask any club officer at any club event for promotional material. The best way for people to find out about the club is for someone to hand them a business card. Make sure you always have them with you. It's also a great way to introduce yourself to that tall stranger.

Who decides on the events?

Any member can sponsor an event. Events are submitted to the VP of Social Events, Jill, at vp-social@tctallclub.org. The VP coordinates events and the club event calendar. In other words, the members decide on the events!  They put it on the calendar and invite the rest of the club. This enables club members to experience many different activities and share what they like to do.

How do events get on the calendar?

Any member can submit an event to the VP of Social Events, Jill, at vp-social@tctallclub.org.  Mainly to make sure there are not conflicts between the events, the VP coordinates the events and the club event calendar. If there are no conflicts and all the information is there, the VP enables the event to be displayed on the newsletter and website calendar. This information is used in email messages and regular U.S. mail to the club mailing list to inform everyone about the events.

How can I sponsor an event?

It's very easy to sponsor an event. First, become a member of the club. Then submit the event. If you are new to the club, you may want to talk to the social chair, president or other members to see if there would be interest in your type of event. It is recommended that you select an event that you are interested in and would attend anyway.

May I bring a guest to an event? What if they aren’t that tall?

Yes, you are welcome to bring guests to events, unless the event is marked as a Closed event for members only. Your guest does not have to meet the height requirement.
